today fractals fragmented and healed my world in their enigmatic swirl
dancing off the clouds, they spun their web of detail across my eyes
over my heart, and captured my mind.
larger and smaller, they detail the universe in all her glory
make her an infant girl and an elderly crone attended by maids in waiting
she bares down, and births herself as she gasps her last breath.
blessed beads, they incarnate the mother in my hands
and spill to the floor of the world, rolling off her edge
the rain beats down from the heavens, relentlessly.
the eye of the storm descends, and spinning in stillness
kaleidoscopes the sunlight through the clouds
a leaf spins it into life.
