searching

I dont think I can be with someone

who,
when their partner collapses
into a dark crisis,
turns away
breaks trust
can't be steadfast.

who,
when the loving gaze slips
into self doubt
illness
pain
can't stand not to see themselves and finds
the closest mirror.

who
loves partially, preferentially, palely.
who believes short term
who gives reservedly
who protects their interests
above death's certainty
and over love's preciousness.

My heart holds out for love,
that doesnt try to mold itself
at a time of pain
at a place of peril
at the edge
into
a more convenient story
a memory
a back door
an excuse
instead of
presence.

I dont know if I can be someone,
who takes the dark story
believes its half-lit truths
piles them onto the bonfire
and warms themselves.

Two, caught in duality,
between love and loss
turning
in the light of shadow
facing
each other.

birthday surprise

you've created life
with your mother's scripts and so,
your heart is mourning.

dream 24th heritage day morning

beautiful book
of silk & leather filled with
deep women's wisdoms

thin pages filled with
stories, spells, medicine &
witchy intellect

finding the book I
need to tell Louise-witch my
heart full of hope light.

20th October

tone striking a discord
between us- things stretch tight and brooding
waiting for the storm.

I imagine you
happy elsewhere whenever
silence gets too loud.

my mind leaps upstream,
against my icy cold fears,
intent on the source.

part of my scared heart
knows that loves endings are far
beyond its powers.

out of sight and mind
trying to ignore the sound
of bird against glass.

after a while words
no longer hold the bright energy
of forgranted trust.

drowning in grief

luckily, haiku
hold just about anything
even the ocean.

subtext

see, it only took
14 days for the silent
facts to speak their truth.

death is final

leaf touches the ground,
lightly at rest on the dry ground,
having just fallen.
